Dracaena Care Guide

Dracaena plants are super popular houseplants known for their stunning leaves and versatility.

They can grow quite tall, and some species can even reach the ceiling!

------------------------------------

FLOWERS:

Dracaena plants do produce flowers, but they're not exactly the showiest part.

The blooms are usually small, white, or yellowish, and have a sweet fragrance.

They often appear in clusters on long stems, but flowering is relatively rare indoors.

------------------------------------

WATERING:

Dracaena plants prefer well-draining soil and should be watered when the soil is dried out.

Avoid overwatering, as this can lead to root rot.

Water thoroughly, but make sure the pot has good drainage holes. This does not rot the roots! People often give cacti/succulents. Spray of water once a month, but that doesn't happen in their natural habitat! In the desert, it barely rains, but when it does, it is like a flood! I like to do this with my cacti, and plants like Dracaena, which receives less often water in nature. Dracaena also grows in some rain forests, and it is pretty adaptable.

I'd water once every month (the soil should be dried out by then) in the winter, and twice a month in the summer months.

------------------------------------

LIGHT REQUIREMENTS:

Dracaena plants can thrive in a range of light conditions, from low to bright indirect light.

Direct sunlight can scorch the leaves if they are not used to it, so it's best to provide filtered or dappled light.

Some species can tolerate low light, making them perfect for rooms with limited natural light.

------------------------------------

PROPAGATION:

Dracaena plants are relatively easy to propagate through stem cuttings.

Take a cutting with at least a few nodes, remove lower leaves, and plant it in moist potting mix.

Keep the soil warm and humid, and you'll have a new plant in no time!

------------------------------------

MEDIUMS:

Dracaena plants prefer well-draining potting soil that's rich in organic matter.

A mix specifically designed for tropical plants is a great choice.

You can also add perlite or sand to improve drainage and prevent waterlogged soil.

With the right care, your Dracaena will thrive and add a touch of elegance to your space!
