Ludisia Care Guide

Ludisia, also known as a Jewel Orchid, their flowers are small and ususally white, growing in cute little clusters on tall flower stalks. They're pretty, but i like the leaves a lot more than the flowers.

------------------------------------

WATERING:
I´d say water once a week, and fertilize it (only in the ratio as shown on your fertilizer bottle) if you  want your Ludisia to flower (preferablly during the summer months), but have patience.

------------------------------------

LIGHT REQUIREMENTS:
Try to avoid a low-light situation as that can cause the leaves to lose their color and patern, and can they need bright, indirect light for the best growth and blooms. If i were you i´d avoid direct sunlight too, because that can scorch the leaves.

------------------------------------

PROPAGATION:
Propagating Ludisia is pretty easy. You can divide the plant when it's mature enough (via off-shoots), or take stem cuttings and put them in some water, and roots should start to grow out of the nodes within a few weeks, then just pot it up in some soil when there is a nice bush of roots.

------------------------------------

MEDIUMS:
Make a nice mix of coco peat, perlite, leca and some soil. Perfect for holding some moisture and providing drainage.
