Stromanthe Care Guide

Stromanthe is part of the Marantaceae plant family, and plants like Calathea, Maranta and Ctenanthe are in the same family and have somewhat similar care needs, and they all close their leaves at night and these plants are known for being a bit dramatic.

FLOWERS:

Stromanthe plants produce very cute flowers that are usually white, yellow, or orange. I like these very much, it's really cute!

WATERING:

Again, dramatic plants so don't worry about it dying if it looks dead after being watered 3 days later than usual, just give it a thorough soak, let it drip and put it back to reset its dramaticness😂

If you can water once a week or even better, keep the soil moist and use a chunky soil mix, or hydroponics to keep the plant nice and hydrated

LIGHT REQUIREMENTS:

Stromanthe does really want to have good lighting and especially if you want those vibrant colors in their leaves, so please put it under a growlight or in front of a window where there's no harsh direct light to prevent leaves from scorching.

PROPAGATION:

So these plants grow with rhizomes, those are basically undergrond stems that keeps sprouting new leaves, so when you're repotting you can just cut the rhizome in multiple parts, pot them up separately and watch them grow.
